Uncertain future of FIREPOWER


For now, I can say FIREPOWER is completely on hold, almost canceled... Almost ;)
The team has not spoke in a long time, I'm only speaking regularly to Martín, the programmer, producer and sound designer of the game (and also the placeholder-not-so-placeholder-anymore 3d modeller, props to him for the stupidly cute Beetledrone).

Next steps? I don't know. I want to port the game myself to Unreal Engine 5, because when I take on it it will be released.

I will port it to UE5, to be honest. This project was my final project at the university, and I'm proud of it.
Hell, I love it. I miss it, but I needed to let it go.

I uploaded some images to this post. I'll comment about them in the order that I see them appear on the upload box:

  1. Drone customization mockup
  2. First art pass for Crystal Pyramid arena
  3. Testing CryPy, with two placeholder robots that could have been part of the game but we didn't have time. The Gonarch (ripped 3d model from Half-Life) and a free Spider Robot from the Asset Store.
  4. The original, horrible looking, end of game screen. (Sorry Martín!)
  5. The original screenshot for the FIREPOWER logo
  6. That's my game designer's mockup for the destruction of the statues in Crystal Pyramid.

Thank you for reading me. I hope I can make FIREPOWER UE5 port someday, maybe it will be called FIREPOWER 2? Who knows!
I assume I will do it alone, but still mention the original members of the team.

If I ever put it on Steam, I'll split the revenue to the percentage each member deserves.
